Island Life: Fires and torches and hookahs oh my.

So in Koh Chang there seems to be plenty of fire shows. All along the beach by every resort/restaurant/bar. And let me tell you , my taste in fire shows just got significantly more snooty. Truly, I'm never going to a Hawaiian luau again, the Thais are ridiculously dangerous and it's way more entertaining.

So  one night we took Trip Advisor's advice and went to Sabay Bar, snagged some bar beds,  ordered some hookah, and watched various  sets of fire shows in between listening to various sets of a filipino cover band. I think that was my favorite part of the trip. I wish so bad I could put Sabay Bar in my pocket and lay it back out in Pattaya. This town needs some fire throwing-hookah smoking-band listening-no prostitution allowed, good clean fun. So if you are near White Sand Beach in Koh Chang. Go go go. Every night. So much fun..

It was interesting that the culture was so much different being only a three hour drive from our house. Aside from malfunctioning fireworks on new years and other various holidays, I have never seen fire throwing in Pattaya. But I guess adding fire to Pattaya's crazy night life would probably up the mortality rate even more. Koh Chang seemed to have a lot more common since altogether.

Except for that time (the first night) we saw 10 year olds drinking vodka and playing with their fire torches. "10 years old" is actually just a guestimation, one of them told me he was 24 and then preceded to drop his torch and almost catch me on fire.
