Oh Koh Chang. I love you. I really do. Why can’t you just be
my town? Why?? Why??? This time around we strategized...we contemplated and we came to the decision that our best
bet to happiness was to stay as close to the Mexican food while still receiving air con and having our own sea view back
porch as possible. Done. But such tasks aren’t so easy my
friends. So what if we shift our noses up to hostels? Call me selfish! I like
the privacy of my own room featuring my own geckos and Joey is just the
guy to find such good places. Plus I’m sure a good portion of the backpacker
community doesn’t really want me anyways. The fact we live here and aren’t
travelers isn’t really that cool, it really isn’t. And plus I don’t have dreads, which is really a
shame.
So we stayed at this great place in Lonely Beach that
advertises themselves to their target audience as for the people “who want to
be around the backpacker young people community, but like the luxury of free breakfast.” Well,
that’s what I got from it at least. We’ll just call ourselves “up scale
backpackers” Because I mean, I really do like being around people my age I
really do…it’s just if I want free bacon at 9:00 AM I don’t want to have to
walk far to get it.
SO if you are in your
twenties and going to Koh Chang but not wanting to 'Hostel it up', I would
suggest this place. It has gorgeous ocean views and Barrio Bonito Mexican Cantina
is right up the street and the puppies barking at the taunting monkeys that are tight roping the telephone poles are
directly adjacent to the hotel which all in all left me leaving the island an
amused up scale backpacker with a yummy saturated fats filled tummy// all while
being accompanied by a very sun burnt husband who refuses to wear sunscreen.
I also learned how to stand on my head this week which was a really huge deal.
